To explore how engineering for the developing world must combine world and industry research, customer reviews and development, design for manufacturability, stakeholder management, and financial modeling, to facilitate the change-making leverage of entrepreneurship and sustainable outcomes. The technologies that will be explored are alternative energy solutions, medical devices, mobile phones, internet, recycling, cookstoves, clean water, sanitation, and infrastructure. Prerequisites: Restricted to students with 57-180 credits (Juniors or Seniors).
