MUSC-4168 (3) World Music Theories
Examines music rules, concepts or music theories and sociocultural elements that musicians use in creating musical sound, with emphasis on music practices from a variety of world traditions; observing shared and diverging principles, making cross-cultural comparisons and developing a new pedagogy that supports the substantive study of global musics. Recommended prereqs., MUSC 1802 or 2772 or 2782 or 4112. Same as MUSC 5168. Requisites: Restricted to students with 57-180 credits (Junior or Senior) College of Music (MUSC) majors only.
