MUSC-5011 (2) 16th Century Counterpoint
Provides a stylistic study of the main contrapuntal genres of the period including free, two- and three-part imitative counterpoint in the style of Palestrina. Provides a foundation in species counterpoint, working towards free counterpoint; stresses composing in 16th century styles. Offered fall of even-numbered years. Same as MUSC 4011. Requisites: Restricted to College of Music (MUSC) graduate students only.
