MCEN-4115 (3) Mechatronics and Robotics I
Focuses on design and construction of microprocessor-controlled electro-mechanical systems. Lectures review critical circuit topics, introduce microprocessor architecture and programming, discuss sensor and actuator component selection, robotic systems, and design strategies for complex, multi-system devices. Lab work reinforces lectures and allows hands-on experience with robotic design. Students must design and build an autonomous robotic device. Project expenses may be incurred ($50 maximum). Same as MCEN 5115. Requisites: Requires prerequisite courses of ECEN 3010 and GEEN 1300 or ECEN 1310 or CSCI 1300 (all minimum grade C). Restricted to students with 87-180 credits (Senior, Fifth Year Senior) Mechanical Engineering majors only.
