CHEM-5251 (3) Materials Chemistry and Properties
Lec. Understanding of materials from chemistry perspective including metals, oxides, semiconductors and polymers. Basic description of chemical preparation of materials. Overview of fundamental properties of materials including structural, chemical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical properties. Description of behavior of materials and various applications in modern technology. Discussion of materials characterization methods. CHEM 4251 and 5251 are the same course. Requisites: Requires prerequisite courses of CHEM 3331 or 3371, and CHEM 4431, 4521, or 4531 (all minimum grade grade C-) or restricted to graduate students only.
