Addresses how artists developed new compositional procedures, graphic techniques, and audiences, and how these procedures were theorized in an age when artists' intellectual and social status rose dramatically. Explores reception of new graphic technology. Studies specific commissions and primary texts in depth. Same as ARTH 5749.
