Provides a stylistic study of main contrapuntal genres of the period including FREE, TWO-and THREE-part imitative counterpoint in the style of Palestrina. Provides a foundation in species counterpoint, working towards free counterpoint; stresses analysis and composing in 16th-century styles. Prerequisites: Restricted to College of Music (MUSC) graduate students only.
