Takes an in-depth look at some of the basic features of modern criminal justice systems that share the civil law tradition with the hope that such study will provide a vehicle for a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the American system of criminal justice. Prerequisites: Requires prerequisite course of LAWS 6045 (minimum grade D-).
