Refines advanced students' approach to the nuances and virtuosity of jazz idiom. Emphasis is placed on efficient use of alignment, complex polyrhythmic explorations and improvisations, and dynamic performance style. Class moves quickly through material and demands a high level of proficiency. Enrollment by audition only. May be repeated up to 4 total credit hours. Meets with DNCE 5261.
