MCEN-5045 (3) Design for Manufacturability

Topics include general design guidelines for manufacturability; aspects of manufacturing processes that affect design decisions; design rules to maximize manufacturability; statistical considerations; value engineering and design for assembly (manual, robotic, and automatic). Presents case studies of successful products exhibiting Dfm. Prereq., MCEN 4026 or equivalent. Restricted to College of Engineering and Applied Science Graduate Students or BS/MS Mechanical Engineering Concurrent Degree students.
