Teaches regular and singular perturbation methods for solving ordinary and partial differential equations and for evaluating integrals. Emphasizes formulation of mathematical models in fluid mechanics, combustion, heat transfer, solid mechanics, dynamics, and wave propagation. Prereq., MCEN 5020 and 5040, or equivalent. Restricted to College of Engineering and Applied Science Graduate Students or BS/MS Mechanical Engineering Concurrent Degree students.
