Introduces the masterpieces of French medieval and Renaissance literature, including the Chanson de Roland and Arthurian romance. Also focuses on the work of Marie de France, Guillaume de Lorris, and Jean de Meun, Christine de Pisan, Machaut, Villon, Louise Labe, and the poets of the Pliade, Rabelais, and Montaigne.
