Lect. and lab. Topics include basic concepts and history, methods of study, ethical issues, neurobiology, behavior, the development of behavior, predator-prey relationships, communication, aggression and dominance, mating systems, cognitive ethology, and parental care. When possible, life-history strategies, the evolution of behavior, and behavioral ecology are stressed. Uses animals and animal tissues. Prereqs., EBIO 1210, 1220, 1230, and 1240, or EPOB 2050 and 2060. Prerequisites: Restricted to students with 27-180 credits (Sophomore, Junior or Senior) only.
